There are plenty of activities on offer here at Lymley Wood. Whether you're visiting for an afternoon of fun or relaxation, or for a whole weekend of nature connection, there are a wide range of things to do for people of all ages, interests and abilities.

ARCHERY
From Vikings to Romans, hunters, and soldiers, archery is an ancient skill that requires precision, control and a steady hand. Learn the techniques required to hit your target and feel like an ancient woodland hunter!

ABSEILLING
Are you brave enough to climb 30 meters high, lean out and trust in the rope? This daring personal development activity requires bravery and confidence. Feel a sense of accomplishment as your team mates cheer you down!
CRATE STACK
By working in a team to raise one another as high up as possible, how many crates can you stack before it all comes crashing down? Requiring balance and trust, this activity builds resilience while encouraging team work and communication.
COOKING
Try cooking in the great outdoors, without your typical kitchen utensils. Using an open fire, you could find yourself preparing anything from dampers to breakfasts of champions or chocolate bananas!
BUSHCRAFT SKILLS

FIRE LIGHTING
Burn baby burn! Learn traditional fire lighting skills with our expert instruction, mastering different techniques to build, light and nurture a fire using natural materials and bushcraft techniques.
CAMPFIRES
Utilise this chance to unwind and socialise together after a wonderful day in the woods. Get cosy watching natures TV, sing songs, strum a guitar, and generally enjoy the great outdoors around an amazing campfire.
SHELTER BUILDING
Using a range of materials from within the forest, can your team design a sturdy watertight structure? Will it hold up when put to the ultimate test if you choose to sleep in it overnight?
LOW ROPES
Designed to encourage problem solving, balance and communication. Our purpose-built low ropes course is less than one metre off the ground, so even little ones can give it a go with a helping hand.
Opportunities for land based / woodland volunteering. Ecology and environmental tasks, site maintenence or experience working with children and young people
MINI BEAST TRAIL
Take your group hunting for minibeasts in the local woodland. With collection pots, nets and magnifying glasses, the group will discuss and identify what they find, includes minibeast trail and pond dipping activities.
HIKING [Day/Night]
With a huge selection of routes surrounding Lymley Wood you can take your group exploring the beautiful rural landscape of East Sussex. Try map reading and traditional navigation skills - Google maps not allowed!
NATURAL ARTS & CRAFTS
Get creative and bring resources from the woodland into your masterpiece. Experiment with natural paints, build bug huts, or harness the energy of the woodland to create your own clay tree spirit with twigs and leaves.
PARACHUTE GAMES
Tell a story under the parachute, or let it dance in the wind. Get your team together to try and make an igloo den or make waves and try to keep control of the ball - there are endless team games to play!
CONSERVATION
Get back to nature! Explore our ancient woodland and meadow and learn all about the rich ecology on site. Day trips to the coast for coastal ecology session can also be arranged.
MUD KITCHEN
Ideal for little ones. Get messy and creative in our fully-equipped mud kitchen. Learn to use the utentils to make mud pies, woodland soup and enhance creative and social skills.
PICTURE TRAIL
Can you locate different areas of the site with only a close-up picture? Who will be the first to find them all in time and become a true wilderness explorer?
ADVENTURE COURSE
Test your physical skills as you attempt to make your way around our woodland obstacle course. To complete the circuit requires balance, trust and strength. Time yourself and try to beat your personal best!
