Child-Led Learning in Nature
From Lymley Tots for under 5's to Lymley Sprogs (up to year 6) are regular weekly Forest School sessions.
Lymley Tribe are Forest School weekend sessions for the over 8's.
Safely organised, led by Forest School qualified and DBS checked staff, taster sessions available and children with SEN especially welcome.
Join us for creative and inspiring sessions including the chance to stretch the children's physical self by exploring the adventure playground.
Forest School Activities
Forest School days at Lymley Wood include:
a welcome session to get to know each other and understand the health safety in the woods,
a familiarisation walk around the site noticing seasonal changes and features (think Autumn leaves, summer butterflies)
art and creative activity
bugs and animals activity
adventure playground time – low ropes and climbing
campfire and snacks
Periods of activity and play are balanced with quieter times for rest, stories and songs. These mornings can provide valuable support for parents and carers who come away feeling nurtured and refreshed and with happy and slightly muddy kids!
Sessions for under 5's are parents ‘Stay and Play’ older children can be dropped of and collected for their sessions. Specific seasonal sessions and themed sessions also run, see events calendar for details.
Forest School sessions can be organised for groups e.g. home educated or un-schooled children on request.
